Thanks for your comment. That's the great thing about music...the lyrics are always open to interpretation. For me that's the fun of them...what I take from a song won't necessarily be what someone else takes from it, and that's fine.

On a very literal interpretation, you have a point. I prefer to see those lyrics as an encouragement to hold onto your dreams until things turn round. It's not the end, it's the beginning. It's not the end of your life, it's the springtime of your life...and always will be while you keep your hopes alive.

However I make no pretence that my interpretation is a definitive one, or accurate in any way. I just write about how songs make me feel. I'm not an expert and don't pretend to be.

I'm glad to meet someone who clearly feels strongly about a song that I love, though. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
